Arrive in Kunming
You begin your 7 Day Classic Yunnan Tour to Dali-Lijiang-Kunming from the capital city, Kunming. Upon arrival at the Kunming International Airport, your local guide will meet you. And then you will be transferred to our hotel.
Though being the capital of Yunnan with a population of 4.55 million, Kunming remains an ideal, ’laid back’ place for you to relax yourself. You can take a stroll along the Green Lake, a charming area of teahouses and small boutiques selling handicrafts and beautiful local paintings.
Day 2
Kunming - 
- Stone forest - - Kunming
Today, a tour of Stone Forest will be your major activity in 7 Day Classic Yunnan Tour to Dali-Lijiang-Kunming. Your private guide and driver will escort you to discover the Stone Forest near kunming city.
There is a local saying: It is a waste of time not to visit the Stone Forest while visiting Kunming, which vividly expresses the deep love of the local people toward this world wonder. Stone Forest is about 120 km from Kunming City and requires only a three-hour drive. It covers an area of 400 square kilometers and includes both large and small forest as well as many other scenic spots. It has been know since the Ming Dynasty as the First Wonder of the World.
The magnificent, strange and steep landscape of the Stone Forest creates countless labyrinthine vistas, all of which feature stones in various formations. Animals, plants, and even human figures can be found here. Some are elegant, some are rugged, and each is lifelike with its own distinguishing characteristics. Geologists say that the Stone Forest is a typical example of karsts topography. Approximately 270 million years ago, during the carboniferous period of the Paleozoic era, the region was a vast expanse of sea. Over years of movements, the lithosphere gradually caused a retreat of the waters and the rise of the limestone landscapes. Due to constant erosions by the elements, thee area finally developed into the present-day Stone Forest.
Day 3
Kunming - 
- Dali
Today, your will have a tour of Dali, the must-see attraction in Dali such as Erhai Lake, Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple, Cangshan Mountain and Dali Old Town are today’s highlights.
Erhai Lake was formed by the subsidence of geological fault. It is reputed as the pearl on plateau for its beautiful scenery. The famous sights of the Erhai Lake include Three Islets, namely Jinsuo, Chiwen, and Yuji, Four Lands, namely Malian, Mandarin Duck, Qingsha, and Daguanpeng, and Nine Curves, namely Lotus, Huge Crane, Panji, Phoenix Wing, Dill, Ox Horn, Bozuo, Gaopin, Soaring Crane.
The houses of local Bai residents are characterized by a traditional Chinese rectangular courtyard with a screen wall facing the gate. On the screen wall there are usually four Chinese characters, reading ’Qingbai Shijia’ (innocent family) or ’Ziqi Donglai’ (Auspicious air comes from the East). Around them are landscape paintings and decorations with profusion of colours. The doors and windows are full of grills with auspicious paintings.
In Xizhou, visitors also have the opportunity to appreciate the genuine tea ceremony of the Bai minority. Sandao Tea is a must-drink. It consists of bitter tea, sweet tea and aftertaste tea, indicating the whole life of the people.
As its name implies, Three Pagodas in Chongshen Temple are made of three ancient independent pagodas forming a symmetrical triangle. This is unique in China. Standing like three legs of a tripod, the Chongsheng Three Pagodas made of bricks were built a thousand years ago.
Straight and towering, the Quadrangular Qianxun Pagoda, the main one was exquisitely constructed, with multiple tiers of eaves. It has 16 storeys and a height of 69.13 meters. In the central part of each facade, a shrine was built and a Buddha statue of white marble installed. The two other pagodas of 10 stories are 42.19 meters high. They are solid and beautiful, and in octagonal shape. Coated with white mud, and carved with a shrine, a Buddha statue, lotus flowers, etc. on each story, the pagodas look elegant and stately. On top of the pagoda are placed three bronze gourds, representative of the ethnic style.
Day 4
Dali - - Lijiang
Drive to Lijiang to start a tour of Lijiang. Arrive in Lijiang to visit the must-see attraction of lijiang ,such as Lijiang Old Town, Sifangjie Street and Black Dragon Pool in Jade Spring Park.
Black Dragon Pool has another name called Jade Spring. The park on the sire was built in 1737 during the Qing Dynasty. Since the pool is as green as a shining jade, the park is also entitled the Jade Spring Park. It occupies an area of 11,390 square meters and includes many distinctive, ravishing and well-preserved sites like stone-carved lions, white marble bridges, pavilions, temples and steles etc. These antique and exquisite architectural pieces are in the style of Naxi, which will make your every step in the park a surprise. Bedsides, at least 500 kinds of flowers are planted in the garden and the temple now is served as exhibition hall for seasonal horticultural shows and art displays. Dongba Culture Research Institute and Dongba Culture Museum are also in the park.
Lijiang Ancient Town, which is perfectly adapted to the uneven topography of this key commercial and strategic site, has retained a historic townscape of high quality and authenticity. Its architecture is noteworthy for the blending of elements from several cultures that have come together over many centuries. Lijiang also possesses an ancient water-supply system of great complexity and ingenuity that still functions effectively today.
Day 5
Lijiang - - Tiger Leaping Gorge - - Lijiang
Your today’s highlights of lijiang tour is more fantastic, including a tour of world famous Tiger Leaping Gorge and Yufeng Lamasery.
From Lijiang, you travel north by road into the mountains stopping at the First Bend of the Yangtze River. The scenery is magnificent as the road running through the Lijiang valley, which is filled with wheat fields, and drying haystacks. You will visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the deepest gorges in the world. With 34 rapids of the Yangtze River, it is called the Jinsha in this area. And the magnificent Tiger Leaping Gorge looks like that the mighty Yangtze has carved the world’s deepest chasm. After then, you will be driven back to Lijiang.
Later, you will be escorted to visit Yufeng Temple, located at the southern foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain with ancient forests clustering around, is 9 km away from the Lijiang. Yufeng Temple is called "Kalashicongfeilin" in Tibetan language. There is a small pond in front of the temple embraced by big pine trees. The whole temple shows a distinctive and conjunct architecture style of Han Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism, Taoism and the local Naxi Dongba Religion due to the cultural communion between different minorities and different areas. It is also the witness of the peaceful coexistence and syncretism of multinational cultures and religions, and still plays a very important role in acculturation of Naxi Ethnic Group.
Day 6
Lijiang - - Kunming
Today, you will have half a free day in Lijiang to relax yourself further by this Yunnan tour. Then you will take a flight return to Kunming. Upon your arrival, you will be escorted to your hotel for a rest.
Day 7
Depart from Kunming
You will spend some time exploring the bustling Flower and Bird Market before your farewell. Your journey concludes airport transfer and your 7 Day Classic Yunnan Tour to Dali-Lijiang-Kunming is finished today.
The Flower and Bird Market is located on Yongdao Street of Kunming downtown area. It was originally the site for selling flowers, birds, pets, insects and goldfish. A multitude of shops and stores stand along the long and narrow street, displaying a huge variety of flowers, various kinds of rare plants and different seeds and fertilizers. Bonsai, tree-root carvings and woodcarvings are also available. You can visit it as the end of your Yunnan tour.
