Day 1 Arrive in Chengdu



Chengdu Located in southwest China, is the capital of Sichuan province. More than four thousand years ago, the prehistorically Bronze Age culture of Jinsha established itself in this region. The fertile Chengdu Plain, on which Chengdu is located, is called Tianfuzhi guo in Chinese, which literally means "the country of heaven", or "the Land of Abundance". Chengdu was also the birthplace of the first widely used paper money in the world (Northern Song Dynasty, around A.D. 960). Chengdu was recently ranked as China's 4th "Most Livable City" by the Chinese newspaper giant, China Daily.

Day 2 Chengdu



Today you will marvel at the Wuhou Memorial Temple, Jinli Old Street and Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan.

Wuhou Memorial Temple: The Marquis of Wu, Zhuge Liang (181-234) was the outstanding military strategist immortalized in ’The Romance of the Three Kingdoms’ and in the saying wise as ’the Marquis of Wu’. Peaceful and attractive gardens surround several halls, including one dedicated to his memory and another to that of his emperor Liu Bei, some impressive statues, a small museum, a famous Tang Dynasty stele and the classic red wall leading to Liu Bei’s tomb.

Jinli Old Street: Once the commercial heart of the old kingdoms this ancient street has been fully restored in traditional Sichuan style. Picturesque, bustling, and cheerful, you can sample local arts and craft, traditional Chinese goods, food and delicacies, and even a Starbucks, local style.

Sanxingdui Museum in Guanghan: Founded in 1992, Sanxingdui Museum occupies an area of 7000 square kilometers, and has a exhibition of the cultural relics excavated from No1 and No2 sacrificial pits of Shang Dynasty (from 16th-11th century B.C.). There are thousands of pieces of invaluable relics such as bronze ware, jade ware, gold ware, pottery, and bone ware on the exhibition, where you can get a closed look and learn more about the ancient China.

Day 3 Chengdu



Today’s Panda keeper experience at the Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center will be a highlight of you trip. Some of your tasks may include feeding the pandas or helping them to cool down with a cool bath. You probably won’t escape the cleaning duties in the enclosure or collecting and weighing the panda poop.

Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center: 10km north of Chengdu this beautifully laid-out 230 hectare park is home to giant pandas, the endearing red, or lesser panda, and other endangered species. Visit the nursery to see the highly successful breeding program, and the many enclosures among lakes, bamboo groves and shady walkways, to view the pandas at rest and play. There’s a wealth of information, a panda museum, and of course the engaging animals themselves.
