Day 2
Guangzhou
Your visit plans today are included: Temple of the Six Banyan Trees, Chen Ancestral Shrine, Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall.
The Temple of Six Banyan Trees has a long history in Guangzhou and is an ancient monastery famous at home and abroad. There are majestic towers, dense trees, plenty of antiques and valuable heritage from those famous people in the history. It is one of the four Buddhism temple complexes in Guangzhou and the other three are Guangxiao Temple, Hualin Temple, Haizhuang Temple. Therefore, it is an important unit for the preservation of antiques.
Chen Ancestral Shrine is also called Chen Clan Academy. It is located at Zhongshan 7th Road and is an important site which is preserved as a cultural relic. It was built in the 12th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu (1894) with donations of members from the Chen family who lived in 72 different counties in Guangdong province. It was used to supply accommodation to members of the Chen family who came to Guangzhou for imperial examinations. It is now preserved as a Guangdong Folk Craftwork Museum.
Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, situated on the southern slope of Yuexiu Hill, was constructed between 1929 and 1931, a monument to Dr Sun Yat-sen, the forerunner of Chinese democratic revolution, by the people of Guangzhou and overseas Chinese. The hall, a grand octagon building of typical Chinese architectural style, looks brand new because of reconstruction in 1998. The masterpiece of architecture history is created with a span of 71 meters (about 78 yards) without a pillar but significant outlooks and delicate interior designs. As an important place for conferences and performances, it can hold thousands of people with sound equipment. In the hall there is also a display gallery showing pictures and letters of Sun Yat-sen.
Day 3
Guangzhou -
- Guilin
Visit Museum of the Nanyue King of the Western Han Dynasty and The Zhenhai Tower in the morning. Take an overnight train to Guilin.
Located in Jiefangbei Road, Yuexue District, Guangzhou, Museum of the Western Han Dynasty Mausoleum of the Nanyue King, with an area of 1, 4000 sq m, is the witness of Guangzhou’s history of more than 2000 years.The tomb was found by accident in 1983. It was hidden about 20 meters below the surface of the mountain and is built out of 750 big stones. Wooden boards were laid at the bottom of the tomb and the sides of which were covered by stone slabs. The whole tomb was magnificent and complicated and specific in its layout with two stone doors dividing it into small compartments.
Standing on the top of Yuexiu Hill in the northern suburbs, the 28-metre-high five-story tower, Zhenhai Tower (also known as the Five-Story Pagoda) was built on the orders of Zhu Liangzu, the Yongjia Marquis of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), to flaunt his power and the obsession that he was able to shake the seas and mountains. A magnificent building, it commands a bird’s-eye view of the whole city. The tower now houses the City Museum; its exhibits chronicle the history of Guangzhou from Neolithic times till the early part of the 20th century.
Day 4
Guilin
Transfer from train station to hotel. Have a good rest. Visit Elephant Trunk Hill and Reed Flute Cave in the afternoon.
Elephant Trunk Hill, also known as Elephant Hill is located at the confluence of Li River and Peach Blossom River in the southwest of Guilin city. It looks like a huge elephant stretching its trunk drinking water hence the name. Elephant Trunk Hill has been the symbol of the karst landscape in the area.
The Reed Flute Cave is absolutely a must-see attraction. It is situated in the highway of the Guangming Hill, in the northwestern suburbs of the city. The cave got its name from a kind of flutes growing outside which can be made into melodious flutes. The cave is filled with a large number of stalactites, stalagmites, rocks in all strange shapes. The cave is about 240 meters long and a trip last about one hour.
Day 5
Guilin -

- Guilin
Visit Li River which gives an impressive memory. Upon arrival in Yangshuo, stroll on the West Street.
The 83-kilometer-long waterway from Guilin to Yangshuo is like an artist's masterpiece. The landscape is decorated with startling hills, steep cliffs, fantastic caves and farming villages, and is lined with bamboo. In a Chinese poem it is written: "The river is a green silk ribbon, and the hills are jade hairpins".
Day 6
Depart from guilin
Visit Seven Star Park and Fubo Hill in the morning. Then you will be transferred to the airport for your next destination.
Seven Stars Park, covering an area of more than 120 hectares (297 acres), is the largest comprehensive park with mass scenery in Guilin City. Located at the east bank of Li River, the park is 1.5 kilometers (0.9 mile) from the downtown area of Guilin. The park was so named because of the seven peaks (the four peaks of Putuo Mountain and three of Crescent Mountain) inside resemble the form of the Big Dipper constellation.
Fubo Hill is on the west bank of the Li River. Partially submerged in the river and partially above ground; it is 213 meters above sea level and 62 meters above ground. It measures 120 meters long and 60 meters wide. It was named for General Fubo of the Tang Dynasty who built Mayuan Temple on the hill. Because of its location and height, Fubo Hill can tame the waves, stopping the surging waters which then form whirlpools. Attractions include Pearl-Returning Cave, One-Thousand-Buddhas Cave, Sword Testing Stone, Listening-to-the-Waves Pavilion and One-Thousand-Persons Pot and Big Iron Clock.
