Location

Hong Kong Disneyland is located on Penny’s Bay, Lantau Island, and 10 minutes from Hong Kong International Airport and less than 30 minutes by train, ferry or motorway from downtown Hong Kong.

History

The Hong Kong Disneyland project was announced in 1999. Then the site preparation, land reclamation, initial layout of roads and infrastructure, and Public Park landscaping by the HKSAR Government were all prepared. In January 2003, construction of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort began. Hong Kong Disneyland opened on September 12, 2005 at exactly 1 p.m., a date and time determined to be extremely lucky by a Chinese consultant. September 12 is a good date for the opening of a new business, according to a Chinese almanac that lists what is lucky and what is not for each day of the year.

Attraction

The park consists of four themed lands similar to other Disneyland parks: Main Street, U.S.A., Adventureland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. All of them may bring you numerous fun and wonderful experience. On the Main Street, U.S.A, you can enjoy the typical old architectures from America, all kinds of classic antique cars as well as taste the delicious food from both western and eastern countries; in the Adventureland, along several broad rivers and through the African extensive grassland, in the mysterious Asian forest and at the Taishan Island, a brave pilot will lead you to explore the wonders and secret remote scenes of the great nature; the Fantasyland is a fairy-tale world full of happiness in your dream, and in it there are beautiful and kind-hearted Snow White, pure and lively little frying elephants, cute and naive little Winnie Bears, all characters in tales bringing you happiness and fancy; in the Tomorrowland, you can experience the thrilling trip in the outer space and explore the endless universes. The nighttime lighting around Hong Kong Disneyland is one of the most dramatic and ambitious at any Disney theme park. Park areas are lit with lanterns, special light fixtures, and fiber optics. Furthermore, there are Hong Kong Disneyland Park Hotel and Disneyland Hollywood Hotel where you can enjoy to the most the fairy-tale world and movie world, surprised by Disney characters here and there.
