People can enjoy various entertainments at night in Guilin. As the night falls, Guilin city takes on an elegant charm, with city light reflecting on the water beneath the karst peaks looming in the distance.
The elders like to step out into the street for a stroll at night. Families can be seen walking down the street chatting and enjoying each other’s companion. They often head to Seven Star Park or Jia Tian Xia Square or the Central Square at a leisurely pace. After their walk, elder people will get together to play chess, mahjong, or cards, etc.
Nightlife in Guilin's downtown area is hopping. This is the gathering place for young people to enjoy a variegated nightlife. They love going shopping at the nightmarket, big shopping malls or Zheng Yang Road Pedestrian Street, etc. Nightclubs and bars in Zheng Yang Road Pedestrian Street or Zhong Shan Road are also the paradise for them.
For the tourists, Guilin's night market located along the Zhong Shan Road is an attraction. It sells exquisite souvenirs, cute articles, and something full of characteristics of Zhuang Minority. Some visitors might be interested in the street performances. These performances are musical instrument performances or caidiao opera, a local opera, presented by some local amateur artists.
There are a number of ethnic entertaining shows put on for tourists to experience the folk-custom and appreciate the minority’s culture in some theaters in Guilin.
Impression Liu Sanjie
It is a song and dance revue featuring some 600 performers-takes place at what is billed as the world’s largest natural theater, located on the Li River with a backdrop of some dozen nearby karst peaks. It has become a must for visitors to Yangshuo.
Yangshuo West Street,
The West Street in Yangshuo with the Chinese traditional style is filled with stores, bars, cafes and hotels. It is the most prosperous district in Yangshuo, and especially greatly admired by foreigners for its simple style and courtyard-like setting. Well-known bars in the West Street are Minnie Mai’s, Mei You Bar, Anne’s Art Café, ect. Strolling along Yangshuo West Street at night, you can not only to enjoy the Chinese traditional cultural but also relax yourself in cups of coffee or beer.
A nighttime along the Li River
Tourists can enjoy and relax themselves thoroughly to spend the nightlife along the Li River. Li River nighttime is made up of Li River Cruise and Dancing in the Water Pavilion near to the Li River Yinzuo Ferry.

Dreamlike Li River is a world-renowned performance combing ballet and acrobatics to represent the history. By using fantastic settings, sound, light and electricity, the performance affects strongly the audience by zero distance.
